Is Yohimbe an Herb?

Yohimbe is considered an herb, which is found in the bark of the of the Corynanthe and Pausinystalie Yohimbe trees. These evergreen-type trees are native to West Africa.

Yohimbe, which comes from the Yohimbe bark, is a powerful natural substance containing a chemical component known as Yohimbine, used for centuries as an aphrodisiac and a cure for sexual dysfunctions, including importance. Although it is a natural, herbal remedy, some forms have been approved by the FDA and available in high doses through a healthcare professional. There are even non-regulated forms of Yohimbe compounds available over-the-counter.
